Job Description
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC), to conduct research in the area of impurity transport at the DIII-D tokamak. Will perform research on DIII-D in the areas of impurity transport, plasma turbulence, and core/edge transport modeling as part of the ongoing collaboration between MIT and General Atomics; operate the laser blow-off (LBO) system at DIII-D to perform cutting-edge research and lead experiments on DIII-D to achieve research goals; make original research contributions to the PSFC program; produce peer-reviewed publications; and present research findings at national and international conferences.
Job Requirements:REQUIRED: a Ph.D. in plasma physics or related area, proficiency with programming for scientific analysis, experience in tokamak research, and ability to effectively communicate and interact in a team-oriented environment. PREFERRED: experience programming in Python, expertise in transport physics, and some hardware experience. Job #21581
